Detours In Place After Route 72 Crash: Stafford Police

STAFFORD, NJ — UPDATE: Route 72 West has reopened with detours in the eastbound lanes.

Route 72 East has been detoured through Marsha Drive due to a motor vehicle accident, police said.

The closure is expected for an extended period of time, according to Stafford police.

“There will still be access to Long Beach Island, however please be patient and expect heavy delays, as the only access is through the Beach Haven West detour,” police said.

Police are urging motorists to avoid the area this afternoon.
