Donations Suspended As Ocean County Shelters 'Overwhelmed' By Support
Both of the county's shelters in Manahawkin and Jackson are running out of room to store "all the wonderful donations," they said.
OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — The county's animal shelters have a problem, but for once, it's a problem you want to have.
Due to an overwhelming amount of support from the community, both of the shelters in Manahawkin and Jackson are suspending donations - because they've gotten so many.
"Due to the overwhelming generosity of the public both shelters are inundated with all the wonderful donations that were sent and are running out of room to store it," the Friends of Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter wrote on social media.

You can still help the shelters by volunteering, donating money or adopting one of the many animals already looking for homes.
Donate money by check through the Ocean County Health Department, which runs the shelters. Mention "Brick hoarding" or "animal health trust fund" on the subject line.
Volunteers are needed for dog walking, sorting donations and organizing at the Manahawkin location. To volunteer, contact the Friends of the Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter at https://www.fosocas.org/.
