Food Drive Continues At Over 10 Businesses In Stafford, LBI

STAFFORD, NJ — Over 10 businesses in Stafford Township and Long Beach Island are serving as drop-off locations for a community-wide food drive through April 30.

Barlow Buick GMC of Manahawkin is leading the effort with a goal of filling up a truck bed with non-perishables to benefit local food pantries in Southern Ocean County.

The car dealership's staff has already made several donations since the food drive began on March 22.

In addition to the drop-off locations listed below, the Stafford Township Municipal Building and the Bay Avenue Community Center accepts donations Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

These are the pantries' most needed items:

• Canned tuna, chicken, salmon
• Canned veggies
• Cooking oils
• Shelf-stable milk
• Pancake mix and syrup
• Peanut butter & jelly
• Canned fruits
• Fruit juice
• Soups
• Ready-to-eat canned meals (chili, stew, spaghetti & meatballs)
• Hot cereals (oatmeal, steel-cut oats, farina, muesli)
• Cold cereals
