Free At-Home Art Program Offered By Tuckerton Seaport

Homebound Ocean and Atlantic County residents can receive in-home art demonstrations, instructions and more for free.

TUCKERTON, NJ — Residents of Ocean and Atlantic County who are homebound can experience art for free thanks to the Tuckerton Seaport.

The Jersey Shore Folklife Center at Tuckerton Seaport recently announced its continued partnership with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for another year of renewed Folk and Traditional Arts at Home Programming. This free program began in 2018 and is offered to homebound Ocean and Atlantic County residents.

Funding for this program was made possible in partnership with the New Jersey State Council for the Arts through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Facilitated by the Jersey Shore Folklife Center, homebound individuals can receive in-home performances, demonstrations, or instructional interactions with a folk artist of choice. These sessions are designed to deepen community engagement opportunities for both artists and participants.

These workshops broaden cultural opportunities for artists and participants who cannot engage in
community arts events.

  • Diverse Folk Arts Programming: Course offerings include fiber arts, basketry, folk singing, and wood carving. Participants can choose the medium that best suits their interests and goals.

  • Flexible Scheduling: Artists can offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate availability.
  • Safe & Inclusive: Programming is accessible to individuals of all backgrounds and abilities.
