Get A Free Tree Seedling In Barnegat: Here's How
Public Works is distributing free bare root seedlings for Barnegat residents on April 13. Here's how to get yours.
BARNEGAT, NJ — April is Earth Month, and what better way to celebrate our planet than by planting a tree? Free bare root seedlings are being given away to Barnegat residents on April 13.
It's part of the Community Tree Recovery program, which helps rebuild communities damaged by Superstorm Sandy by planting trees.
If you want a tree of your own, you can head to the Barnegat Recycling Yard on Lippencott on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is first come, first serve, and there is a limit of five seedlings per household. Residents will need to sign for the seedlings.

If there are enough seedlings leftover, Barnegat Public Works will hold another giveaway the next day at the same time, same place.
The program is part of the Arbor Day Foundation. Since its inception, more than 332,982 trees have been distributed.
