For patrons asking how they can support the restaurant, a GoFundMe was launched to help employees while it closes for renovations.

SURF CITY, NJ — A GoFundMe has been launched after a fire devastated Scojo’s Eatery early Thursday morning.
Firefighters contained the fire to the second floor and salvaged most of the building, the Surf City Volunteer Fire Company said on Facebook.
For patrons asking how they can support Scojo's Eatery, Andy Clark Jr. organized a GoFundMe for donations that will be disbursed in full to staff while the restaurant closes for renovations.

“We will begin repairs to the building in all areas that were affected, both from fire and water damage,” Clark wrote. “Due to these potentially lengthy repairs, our beloved employees will be the ones most impacted by this. We are starting this fund to directly go to them to make up for the money they will be losing while we make renovations.”
Clark added, "Many of our supporters were asking how they could help and we see this as the best solution."
