A Letter To The Editor From Marianne Clemente
Don't forget to vote, no matter what, she says

A Letter to the Editor from Marianne Clemente
I have no intention of specifically responding to the LIES the Mayor of Barnegat, Al Bille, printed about me in his letter to the editor. I will, however, state that Mr. Bille’s comments were a personal attack on me, while my factual comments were directed at our elected officials and what they said as our representatives at our Township Committee meeting in September. It’s a good thing I’m not a litigious person or I’d be suing Al Bille for libel.
What I do want to write about, as we get closer to election day, is to stress the importance of voting, especially in our current political environment. We all experienced last year what happens when people are apathetic about voting….we woke up on that Wednesday morning like we got punched in the gut. We get an incompetent, amoral and narcissistic man living in The People’s House, our White House. That’s why you must exercise your right to vote.

Voting isn’t just important to democracy. Voting is democracy. By voting, you are making your voice heard, thereby letting our elected officials know your opinion on how you think the government should operate. This is a very important responsibility, one not to be taken lightly……that’s why I like to think about voting not so much as a “right” but a “responsibility” of a citizen of these United States of America.
Get out and vote on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017. If you can’t vote in person, get a vote by mail application from the County Clerk…..but fulfill your “responsibility” and VOTE.
