Madelyn Beirne, a standout soccer and golf player from nearby Stafford, is known for her athleticism, academic success and community leadership. Last year, the 2024 Southern Regional High School graduate earned the Peter A. Famiano Memorial Scholarship from the New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF). This scholarship honors student golfers who embody professionalism, integrity, leadership and community spirit.

At Southern Regional, Madelyn was a four-year varsity player on both the women's soccer and golf teams, earning All-Conference honors and graduating in the top 8 percent of her class. She also served as secretary of the National Honor Society and was inducted into the French Honor Society.
Her passion for giving back shines through her years of mentoring younger students and her advocacy for David’s Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation. This cause is close to her heart: At age 10, Madelyn overcame T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Now a rising sophomore at Montclair State University, Madelyn has continued her athletic journey as a midfielder on the women's soccer team. She’s already made an impact on the team throughout her freshman season.

“We have a lot of really good new faces here, and I think they’ve come in, hit the ground running and have been ready to play,” said MSU head coach Pat Naughter, per The Montclarion.
