Manahawkin Animal Shelter To Close For Renovations
The Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter is in "desperate need" of kitten fosters while the shelter closes for renovations.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter is seeking kitten fosters while the facility temporarily closes for "much-needed" renovations.
The Manahawkin-based shelter will close on Nov. 4 for essential repairs and renovations. While it undergoes renovations, the animals will be moved to the Barnegat facility, which is located at 20 Collinstown Road. The Ocean County Health Department, which operates the county shelters, says it expects the project to be done by March 1, 2025.
That Barnegat shelter will be open daily 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for potential adopters to meet the animals.
