A Manahawkin man was bit off part of a man's ear during a fight on the West Virginia University Campus on October 2, according to an article for WV MetroNews. Dean Schrantz, 20, was charged with strangulation without consent and malicious assault.

Police responded to a complaint on the WVU campus shortly after 10 p.m. on October 2, according to WV MetroNews. The victim was found in the kitchen bleeding with part of his ear in a bag of ice.

Schrantz had allegedly put the victim in a headlock until he passed out and bitten at his ear.

Schrantz faces five years in prison for the strangulation without consent charge, and one to five years for the malicious assault charge.
