See Student Researchers' Work At MATES Showcase
See what the students at the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science have been up to at Wednesday's showcase.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — See the work of the students at the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES) at their second annual Arts and Science Showcase.
All are invited to the showcase, running 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on May 7 on the MATES campus (195 Cedar Bridge Road, Manahawkin).
The event will feature some students who compete on the national level with their research. One student, Chloe Wnek, will present her project “An Alternative Suture Material Synthesized From Marine Invertebrates” at the prestigious International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Columbus, Ohio in mid-May.

MATES is a specialized high school offered through the Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS). The competitive program is focused on marine science.
