Mixed Results In Barnegat School Board Race
Pereira, Continanza, Geddes prevail in the race for the three available seats.

BARNEGAT TOWNSHIP, NJ - Two incumbents and one newcomer won the three available seats on the Barnegat Board of Education in Tuesday's election, according to the Ocean County Clerk's Office.
Incumbent Maria Pereira was the top vote getter with 2,192 votes, or 18.51 percent. Newcomer Doreen Continanza was second with 1,684 votes, or 14.22 percent. Incumbent Robert Geddes was third with 1,649 votes, or 13.92 percent.

Robert J. Sawicki received 1,576 votes, or 13.31 percent.
Patti Deem Robbins received 1,509 votes, or 12.74 percent.

Richard Quelch received 1,187 votes, or 10.02 percent.
H.E. "Tripp" Rogers received 1,152 votes, or 9.73 percent.
Jaime Feola received 866 votes, or 7.31 percent.
The race has been overshadowed by the current board's decision not to renew schools Superintendent Karen Woods contract, angering many Woods supporters.
