Motorcyclist Struck In Barnegat Sustains Minor Injuries: Police
A motorcyclist traveling on West Bay Avenue was struck by a car turning on to the northbound parkway entrance ramp on Sunday, police said.
BARNEGAT, NJ — A motorcyclist traveling on West Bay Avenue in Barnegat was struck by a car turning on to the northbound Garden State Parkway entrance ramp on Sunday, police said.
Barnegat Township police responded to the crash at 2:38 p.m.
A 63-year-old man driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling west on West Bay Avenue and drove through the green light at the northbound Garden State Parkway entrance, Captain Jason Carroll said.

A 2015 Honda Civic driven by a 47-year-old woman was facing east in the turn lane to enter the northbound Garden State Parkway entrance ramp. The Honda turned in front of the motorcycle causing the collision, Carroll said.
The motorcyclist and a passenger in the Honda were taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center with minor injuries, he said.

The driver of the Honda was issued a summons for failure to yield.
Traffic was backed up in the area for about 45 minutes, according to Carroll. Patrolman Julie Palasits is investigating the crash.
