PCS Awards $35K in Scholarships to Southern Regional Graduates
Twelve Southern Regional grads earn scholarships to pursue their goals, thanks to a long-standing local tradition.

On May 21, the Pinelands Cultural & Historical Preservation Society (PCS) awarded PCS/Edward W. Rearick Scholarships totaling $35,000 to 12 graduating seniors from Southern Regional High School. This year’s recipients are Avery Smith, Kailey Triant, Breanna Douglas, Keira Ariemma, Sydney Ward, Lily Beck, Casey Collins, Avery DiPietro, Nicolas Napolitano, Luke Piszar, Grant Rupinski, and Kyle Skiendzielewski.
The PCS Scholarship Committee, chaired by Barbara Paskin, evaluated applicants based on academic performance as well as personal stories, extracurricular involvement, honors, and volunteer service. PCS congratulates all 12 outstanding recipients and is proud to support their continued education.
The scholarship program is funded in part by the estate of Edward W. Rearick, a lifelong PCS member who, in 2018, bequeathed a portion of his estate to the organization to establish ongoing scholarships in his name. Mr. Rearick believed deeply in the value of education and entrusted PCS with the responsibility of helping local students achieve their academic goals — a commitment that reflects PCS’s enduring dedication to community enrichment.

The PCS scholarship program began in 1992, and thanks to this generous bequest, PCS has been able to expand its scholarship offerings in recent years. Previously, scholarships were funded solely by proceeds from weekly shows at the historic Albert Music Hall, which is run by the PCS. Today, PCS’s support for local youth through education complements its broader mission of preserving cultural heritage and fostering community spirit.
