Officials also offered the following advice:
Residents should take proactive steps to secure their properties and homes by securing trash and eliminating any attractants for wildlife in their yards. Ground feeding of wildlife is prohibited in Stafford Township, as it not only makes wildlife dependent upon humans, but also creates problematic situations and encounters for both people and pets as they tend to lose their natural fear of humans. Feeding wildlife also allows larger numbers of wildlife to gather in one location potentially increasing the spread of disease.
