Search Launched After Person Seen Jumping Off Bridge In Manahawkin: Police

People are asked not to fly drones in the area of the Route 72 Causeway bridge after a person was seen jumping off the bridge.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A search is ongoing for a person who was seen jumping off the Route 72 Causeway bridge Tuesday night, Stafford police said.

A driver called 911 at about 10:10 p.m. Nov. 25 to report seeing someone jumping off the bridge, police said.

At the top of the bridge, police found an unoccupied gray Toyota Camry belonging to a 19-year-old male from Monmouth County.

"A coordinated search operation is still underway so expect to see helicopters, boats, and drones in the area," police said. "Do not operate any personal drones in the vicinity as they will interfere with the properly equipped aircraft conducting the search."
