Shades Of Psycho: Burlington Man Stabbed In Shower By Roommate

William Hines, 34, charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault, police said.

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ - A Burlington man has been charged with attempted homicide after he followed his roommate into the shower in their apartment and stabbed him multiple times, according to Burlington police.

The 54-year-old victim is in critical condition at Cooper University Hospital. He had stab wounds and lacerations in the face, chest, hands and arms, Burlington Township police said.

Police were called to the apartment in the Brittany Court section of the Chateau Apartments on Sunset Road at 10:09 a.m. on Sunday.

The victim was lying on the bathroom floor. He was treated on the scene by police and emergency services before being taken to the hospital.

The investigation revealed that prior to the stabbing, the victim and his housemate, William Hines, 34, were involved in an argument.

"After some time passed, the victim went to the bathroom to take a shower," the report states. "While the victim was showering, Hines entered the bathroom and stabbed him multiple times."

Hines fled the scene before police arrived, but turned himself into police at noon on Monday.

He has been charged with criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is lodged in the Burlington County Jail pending his appearance in court.
