Southern Ocean Animal Facility Reopens

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — After being closed for renovations for nearly five months, the Southern Ocean County Animal Facility has officially reopened as of Friday.

The Manahawkin shelter is resuming full operations, including animal adoptions, surrenders, reclaims and rabies vaccine clinics.

These operations were being held at the Barnegat location during the temporary closure. That facility has ceased all business as of March 27.

Both Ocean County animal facilities, in Manahawkin and Jackson, are open seven days a week from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (except holidays).
