State Aid 2025-26: See How Barnegat-Manahawkin Schools Fared

Barnegat, Stafford and Southern Regional schools are all set to see an increase in state aid for the upcoming year.

BARNEGAT-MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The Barnegat Township, Stafford Township and Southern Regional school districts will all see an increase in state aid in the upcoming school year, according to numbers released Thursday.

Aid cuts and increases are smaller this year than previously. That's because Gov. Phil Murphy, in his latest budget address, promised changes to New Jersey's school funding to eliminate wild swings in state aid to the state's nearly 600 school districts. Most districts in the state only saw an increase of 6 percent or, if they were getting funding cut, a decrease of 3 percent. Beach Have is seeing a 19.3 percent increase, the largest in the state.

Here are the numbers:

  • Barnegat Township School District: $25,153,236 (6 percent increase)
  • Stafford Township School District: $5,152,977 (7.09 percent increase)
  • Southern Regional School District: $4,488,517 (6 percent increase)

Additionally, Barnegat and Stafford will receive funding for their preschool programs, receiving $5,549,005 and $6,692,632, respectively.
