Search For Ocean County Man After Attempted Murder Charge
A Tuckerton man was charged with attempted murder after shooting a man Tuesday night, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday.
TUCKERTON, NJ — A manhunt is underway after a Tuckerton man was charged with attempted murder after shooting a man Tuesday night, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said Wednesday.
The manhunt for Donald Rutter, 51, of Tuckerton began after police responded to a report that an individual had been shot at Jarvis Marine on Radio Road at 7:30 p.m.
Officers found Thomas Jarvis, 55, of Little Egg Harbor, with an apparent gunshot wound in his midsection, the OCPO said. Jarvis was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where he is currently in stable condition, according to the OCPO.

An investigation by the OCPO’s Major Crime Unit revealed Rutter was the individual who shot Jarvis, the OCPO said.
Following an exhaustive search of the surrounding area, the OCPO said authorities did not locate Rutter.

“Rutter has not yet been apprehended is currently a fugitive from justice. Anyone with information concerning Rutter’s whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Denis Mitchell of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-929-2027,” Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
