Wounded Veterans Honored At Barnegat Library's March Art Exhibit

"FREEDOM" (Expressions of Color), by NJ artist Monroe Mullins, is dedicated to all military veterans injured while serving their country.

BARNEGAT, NJ — The latest art exhibit at the Ocean County Library Barnegat Branch is dedicated to military veterans wounded while serving their country.

“FREEDOM” (Expressions of Color), by New Jersey artist Monroe Mullins, while be on display throughout the month of March.

“Life is never the same for those that suffer in silence, emotionally and physically, with dignity,” Mullin said in dedicating his exhibit. “The exhibit is also dedicated to my father, who served in the U.S. Navy as a Gunner’s Mate in World War II.”

Half of the proceeds from Mullins' works are donated to the Wounded Warriors Project.

Mullins, a Plainfield native, got his art education at Indian Valley College, Novato, California. His display consists of acrylic abstract pieces.

Born Peter David Mullin, he is also an accomplished musician, singer and songwriter who changed his name more than 20 years ago in homage to bluegrass music legend Bill Monroe. Mullin is engaged by the Nashville-based Merf Music Group.

“I consider myself a Renaissance man, dedicating my life to the rejuvenation of all that is creative,” Mullin said. “I have so much more to say…Come and get to know me and my art.”
