Environmental Education Center Announces Upcoming Events
Check out some of the upcoming events for kids and families at the Environmental Education Center for the week of March 23 through 29.

The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center has announced a series of events for the week of March 23 through March 29. The Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge, has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs for children and adults as winter draws winds down.
Children, teen and child/parent programs:
Tot Trek Wednesday, March 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Children age infant to 5 with a parent will leave their strollers behind for a leisurely walk along the trails of Lord Stirling Park to enjoy the natural beauty of spring in New Jersey.Program is free.
Adult and family programs

Birding at Brig Wednesday, March 25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Adult birders will travel to Forsyth National Wildlife Refuge, home to fantastic waterfowl, amazing shorebirds, spectacular raptors, and beautiful songbirds. Beginner and advanced birders are welcome.Fee is $50 per adult and $40 per senior. Advance payment required.
Salamander Adventure at Lord Stirling Park Saturday, March 28 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Family and friends of all ages will enjoy a hike around Lord Stirling Parkin search of salamanders running across the rocks and logs.Fee is $9 per person. Advance payment required.
Woodcock Watch Sunday, March 29 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Family and friends of all ages will mark the arrival of spring on a walk through the fields and meadows of Lord Stirling Park in search of the elusive and amorous bogsucker. Fee is $6 per person. Advance payment required.
