1 Killed In DWI Crash In Berkeley: Police
A car passenger died after a suspected intoxicated driver crashed earlier this week in Bayville, police said.
BERKELEY, NJ — A passenger died in a single vehicle crash where the driver was suspected to be intoxicated this week in Bayville, police said.
The crash occurred at about 12 p.m. Jan. 20 on the 100 block of Grand Central Parkway, police said.
The passenger had been removed from the car and was placed on a home's front lawn when police arrived. That passenger was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where they later died from their injuries, police said.

Police suspected that the driver, Anthony S. Krempel Sr. of Beachwood, was under the influence. Krempel, 37, was taken to Community Medical Center, where a blood warrant was applied for and granted.
Krempel was issued several summonses for DWI, careless driving and reckless driving.
