1st Summer Concert Postponed In Berkeley: Officials
The risk of severe weather in NJ Wednesday evening caused officials to postpone the opening of the summer concert series.
BERKELEY, NJ — "Anticipated severe weather" in New Jersey Wednesday evening has led township officials to postpone the opening show of Berkeley's Sounds of Summer concert series.
A rain date is yet to be announced.
The Office of Emergency Management issued a warning about an increased heat index, high probability of severe thunderstorms, heavy rains and damaging winds and a possible tornado.

"Take this time to store/tie down any loose items outside of your residence," officials said.

Here's Wednesday's forecast for Berkeley, per the National Weather Service:
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 94. Heat index values as high as 102. South wind 10 to 15 mph.
Wednesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between midnight and 5 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5am. Some of the storms could be severe. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
