BERKELEY, N.J. — Two Central Regional teams earned some hardware recently. The softball and girls golf team each clinched division titles.

The softball team became A-South champions with a 7-5 victory Tuesday against Brick Township. The Golden Eagles trailed by as much as 5-1. But Central Regional secured a 6-5 lead with a four-run fourth inning.

Martine Chevalier, Ava Cino, Colleen Kelly and Karleigh Stout each recorded two hits. Stout batted in two. Kelly and Samantha Rullo each scored two runs. Hannah Costa threw 5.1 shutout innings.

Cino also broke a season record with 11 doubles in a season.

The girls golf team defeated Toms River East, 218-251, to earn the A-South title. The Golden Eagles advance to 12-0.

Central Regional's Victoria Mines (39), Briana Boyd (55) and Jean Bustamante (56) were the meet's three lowest scorers in the nine holes played. Mackenzie Billhiemer recorded 68 strokes, while Matilda Jansson followed with 72.
