Air Quality Action Day In Berkeley Due To Wildfire Smoke: NWS
Canadian wildfire smoke will again make the air unhealthy for members of sensitive groups on Thursday, weather officials said.

BERKELEY, NJ — Smoke from the ongoing Canadian wildfires will again be impacting New Jerseyans this week, with an Air Quality Action Day being declared for Berkeley on Thursday by the National Weather Service (NWS).
The NWS has Ocean County under the poor air quality alert from midnight June 28 to midnight June 29.
"Sensitive individuals, including those with heart or lung disease, the elderly, and the young should limit strenuous activities and the amount of time active outdoors," the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection said of Thursday.

The highest concentrations of the unhealthy fine particulates will be in the western portion of the state, officials said.
"Ozone levels are expected to rise into the moderate category as aging wildfire smoke, sunny skies, and transport of emissions from upwind states will result in favorable conditions for ozone," the DEP said.

Here is the forecast through Friday for Berkeley, per the NWS.
Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph becoming south in the morning.
Friday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, then a chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
