Batter Up! Kids Can Compete In Berkeley Baseball Contest

Hosted by the Elks Lodge, kids from ages 5 to 15 can compete in the fun baseball contest. Highest scorers will move on to state competition.

BERKELEY, NJ — Got a kid who's a baseball star or just loves swinging a bat? The New Jersey State Elks Association is hosting the "2022 Lodge Batter-Up Contest" for all kids to take a swing at competing statewide.

Both boys and girls ages five to 15 are invited to compete. Baseball and softball players are invited.

Kids are split into age groups where they will be given ten pitches to hit various targets in the field and accumulate points. The highest scorers will move to the state hitting contest, where they will compete for prizes.

Ages are as of July 31. Age groups are as follows:

  • 5 to 6 (hit off tee)
  • 7 to 8
  • 9 to 10
  • 11 to 12
  • 13 to 15

The contest will be held June 12 at Berkeley Little League located at 43 Moorage Ave in Bayville. Sign ups start at 1 p.m.
