Bayville Elementary School Briefly Evacuated Due To Smoke: Alert

Students were allowed back into school in 10 minutes after fire department deemed building safe

BAYVILLE, NJ - Students in the Bayville Elementary School were briefly evacuated from the building early Thursday morning due to smoke in the library, according to an alert on the district website.

Fire alarms went off around 9 a.m. and students were sent outside. But they were back in the building 10 minutes later. Fire officials determined the smoke was from a fan in the library that had malfunctioned, and said the building was safe to re-enter, the post said.
