Bayville Elks Lodge 2394 Special Needs Group visit Charlotte Farms

Charlotte Farms Sanctuary treats Bayville Elks, with twenty special needs guest and chaperones, to a very special day.

Tuesday, October 1st, twenty special needs guests from the Prime Time Center, along with Bayville Elks Special Children Committee Chair and Co-chair Debra and Cheyenne Gamsby, visited Charlotte Farms, a haven for abused and neglected farm animals. A special tour was given by owners David and Nicole Battat. The group got to interact feed and pet; Alpacas, Emu, goats, donkeys as well as see the cows, chickens and many other animals living at Charlotte Farms. There are about 200 animals here, including reindeer. It was an amazing time and enjoyed by the entire group, including the chaperones.

I encourage all to visit this amazing place. It is worth the trip. Private tours can be arranged.

ABOUT CHARLOTTE FARMS
Charlotte Farms Animal Sanctuary – a place where the animals come first, and their well-being is the top priority. The sanctuary is a haven for abused, neglected, and abandoned farm animals, where they can find refuge, heal from their past traumas, and receive the love and care they deserve.

Charlotte Farms is in a costly fight with the Berkeley Township Zoning Board of Adjustment, which told them they needs a use variance to operate the site. While the property was operated as a farm for decades (and sat vacant for a long time), it resides in a residential zone.
They were told by the board that the sanctuary wasn't an inherently beneficial use to the town.
