Berkeley's New And Improved Website Debuts Today
New features have been added to make it easier for residents to navigate the website, mayor says.

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - If you found the Berkeley Township municipal website a little cumbersome to use in the past, that will change on Thursday, when a new, updated website will debut, Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. said.
The new design will feature online forms that residents can fill out, so they don't have to make a trip to Town Hall, the mayor said.
“I am thrilled to announce the unveiling of our redesigned website," Amato said. "It offers quick access to essential information that will provide residents with a more comprehensive understanding of our municipality and the services we provide.”

The new website can be found at www.BerkeleyTownship.org.
The township partnered with Revize - experts in developing Government websites - to make the improvements, he said.
“Our former web platform was very outdated and not user-friendly," Amato said. "The new website is a complete overhaul of our existing website and will engage residents. Revize allowed us to build our website from scratch and we were able to design our web pages and make it completely customizable, such as adding a photo gallery, an E-Notify signup, emergency alerts and a live Facebook feed on the front page.”
The E-Notify section will allow residents to sign up for text or e-mail alerts.

"The website has a new layout highlighting our latest news, with access to a quick links menu bar, which provides residents with one-click access to important announcements and frequently used forms such as tax records and OPRA requests," he said.
Residents will be able to make payments online and download documents and register online.
"At the top of every page, we have links to all of the departments and services, and even a dedicated FEMA area for those residents still rebuilding from Superstorm Sandy,” the mayor said.
The new design will make it easier for the township to make major changes more quickly," Township Councilman Keith Buscio said. “I wanted to make sure that our site included the latest trend in responsive web design so that it would allow visitors to have an optimal viewing experience and adapt to almost any screen, with little need for resizing on laptops or cell phones. There’s no need to zoom into the text.”
