Police found John Sloan hiding in the attic of a home

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Berkeley police recently arrested a man found hiding in a Holiday City attic with 50 packets of heroin, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolman John Mulvihill responded to a St. Thomas Drive address on Jan. 31 to serve a warrant on Thomas Sloan, 31, of Berkeley. Sloan had an outstanding warrant for theft, the chief said.

He was found in the attic with the heroin and taken to police headquarters for processing. He was then taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in default of bail, DiMichele said.
