Signs and guard rails damaged, apparently by a motor vehicle, police chief says.

Berkeley Township police are investigating a criminal mischief incident at Amherst Beach after they received a call that someone had knocked down two signs, wooden guard rails and damaged a garbage can, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.
Patrolmen Michael Connell and Nicholas Lugo responded to Amherst Beach in Bayville after they received a call at 1:32 p.m. on June 16 about the damage, which appeared to be caused by a motor vehicle driving into the items, the chief said.
Berkeley Parks and Beaches employees estimated the damage to be around $1,400. There are no suspects at this time, DiMichele said.
