Berkeley Police Investigating Thefts At East Serpentine Drive Home

A ride-on lawnmower and electronics were stolen from buildings in the back yard of the home, police chief says

Berkeley Township police are investigating break-ins and thefts from a home on East Serpentine Drive in the Bayville section of the township, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Patrolmen James Mauncele and John Houghkirk responded to the home on a burglary report at 1:36 p.m. on Aug. 9. The caller told police that while she was checking on her father's residence, she discovered that the back door and garage door had been pried open, the chief said.

Padlocks on several sheds on the property were also missing. The caller said a ride-on lawnmower and electronics equipment were missing from the property, DiMichele said.

Detective Sgt. Peter LaRocca and Detective Michael O'Connor assisted with the investigation and processed the scene. There are no suspects at this time and this incident is still under investigation, the chief said.
