Berkeley Police Investigating Wallet Theft At Retro Fitness In Bayville
Suspect was seen on surveillance camera inside locker room, left the gym immediately and did not work out, police chief says.

BAYVILLE, NJ - Berkeley Township police are investigating the recent theft of a wallet taken from a member's locker at Retro Fitness on Route 9 in Bayville, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.
Patrolman Shawn Bowens responded to the business on a theft report at 2:21 p.m. on Aug. 21. The victim told police that someone stole his wallet out of his gym bag, which was stored inside a locker in the locker room, the chief said.
A review of the video surveillance shows a black male, in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing a black backpack, enter the locker room shortly after the victim. The man left the locker room a short time later and immediately left the gym, she said.

"It should also be noted that the male never worked out while at the gym and somehow bypassed the key fob login while the front desk employee was preoccupied," DiMichele said.
