Berkeley’s School Supply Drive Is Underway

Mayor Carmen Amato and Berkeley Recreation are collecting new school supplies at several locations throughout town.

BERKELEY, NJ — Berkeley Township is holding its annual school supply drive.

Mayor Carmen Amato and Berkeley Recreation are collecting new school supplies at several locations throughout town.

Backpacks, notebooks, safety scissors, pens and pencils, erasers, markers, glue and glue sticks, crayons and rulers are among the requested items.

Supplies can be dropped off at the Berkeley Recreation Center, the mayor's office at Town Hall, the Lifeguard Station on 23rd Avenue in South Seaside Park and the recreation booth at the Sounds of Summer Concert Series.

Anyone who donates items will receive a raffle ticket to win one of four $25 gift cards.

"We want to make sure ALL students have the tools and resources they need to have a very successful year," Amato said in a statement. "On behalf of the children of our township, I thank each and every one who has donated and supported the school supply drive."
