Berkeley Township Farmers' Market Canceled On Tuesday Due To Rain And Wind

The National Weather Service is calling for rainy, windy weather.

Berkeley Township officials have canceled the regular Tuesday Farmers' Market due to expected high winds and heavy rains on Aug. 29, Township Councilman Angelo Guadagno said.

The market, which is held every Tuesday, will return on Sept. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in parking lot of the township Recreation Building on Route 9 in Bayville.

The National Weather Service is calling for rain and east winds of 17 to 21 miles per hour for Tuesday. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Township officials added an extra hour to the market this year, so people will have more time to shop.

The township changed the location last year from Veterans Park to the recreation department parking lot. The township also started the market three weeks early this year and kept it open later than last year.
