I can't wrap my head around why Berkeley officials would all agree with a
Developers plan, who ever they may be, that a car wash would be a smart and
thoughtful plan for this prime real estate and argue that "it would be
service establishment and therefore should be allowed." IT'S NOT ZONED
FOR THIS! Not to mention we already have a car wash across the street!
This is just dumb, so dumb.
Is Berkeley Township really planning for the future? Car wash is the
future?
The car wash would bring more people into the development?
Obviously, widening or modifying Route 9 doesn't matter. How are all
these people (AND the cars they drive) going to get to their destination
without idling in their vehicles at a snails pace, to get to their
destination?
It seems this meeting, according to this Patch post, was totally focused
on a Car Wash development, REALLY?
The prime outcome of the meeting with all people in involved for the
Future of Berkeley decided this? Come on man.
I'm not mad at this outcome, but I am very very disappointed with our
Officials thought process.
For those of you that reside in Berkeley, what are your thoughts about
all the development in the area and clearing land for development, not
leaving a single tree?
Plans for development should have specifications in place to leave some native tree growth, but I don't think tearing down or clearing an area void of the very tree that provides us oxygen.
I applaud the purchasing of protected land that Berkeley has done, but
it seems we miss this concept and it's important future.
Focus on Route 9 Infrastructure and stop the
Political madness.
