Berkeley Future, Yeah. No Car Wash and No Popeyes we have both Dummies

Why Berkeley officials would all agree with a Developers Attorney for Car Wash. Why don't we rename Berkeley "Car Wash capital of the Shore"

This is follow up to my previous Article I had written and posted back in August.

For those of us who have read the recent post article by The Patch and for the "whatever reasons" the Patch doesn't have the ability for us to respond to their article is a story for another time, however, we can still post with our own views and thoughts with our own article(s), so here goes.
Based on what I have read, the re-development of the former Beachwood Mall site Attorneys want and argue the change of zoning laws that Berkeley has in place, Berkeley township does this for a reason!!

To not allow this stupid decision for 2 Car Wash's across from one another and other dumb development in Berkeley. Unacceptable planning. We need to have a huge voice in this matter, because we DO matter and this site deserves better. The land is a true gift, one gift that most don't realize unless your looking to make a buck and make dumb decisions about development. I know this property, I walked this property, it needs development care and careful, thoughtful decision making for our future.

This will require a zoning ordinance change. "Two tenants have already signed letters of intent for the site." Huh, how about that, their intent and their letter is stupid because it involves a Car Wash on this old Beachwood mall site with another Car Wash across the street.

Seems like we need to find different tenants wouldn't you think? I think so.

Here is another stupid quote from the article.

Find out what's happening in Berkeleyfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

"Other officials agreed, saying it was healthy and American to encourage competition."

Duhhhhhhhhhh duh. We the people of Berkeley Township and the city of Beachwood, Pine Beach and Bayville are your competition now!

The old Beachwood Plaza doesn't need 2 Car Wash's across the street from one another or a Popeyes Chicken. What so hard about this? Something is fishy here. Something about this dumb tenant's plans do not sit well with me or us. Is someone looking to put Atlantic Car Wash out of business? Seems to add up to that.

Councilman Jim Byrnes needs to put his foot down and find another tenant for this site plan. What's the rush all of the sudden, the space has been run down for decades, whats another few years?

Lets put our big pants on and lets get to it. I got mine on. Do all of us Berkeley Residents need to get together and seek our own Council?

Stay tuned and follow the Berkeley Mall plans. The next Planning Board meeting is set for Dec. 21, 2023.

Respond with your thoughts, don't sit back and be passive about this issue.

The plans for development also have a Popeye's Fast food. We have Roy Rogers, we don't need another fast food chicken establishment! Like I said, Something is fishy here.

Thanks for reading,

d
