Central Super: No Reason To Delay School Opening On Monday
The sun was already up Monday when Central schools opened, Parlapanides says

BAYVILLE, NJ - Every school district has different needs.
That's the reason why Central Regional High School doesn't need to have delayed openings when other school districts do, Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides said on his Facebook page.
Central Regional High School starts at 7:45 a.m.. Students are at the bus stops by 7 a.m, when the sun is up and they can be seen by drivers. It's also light out when students are driving to school, he said.

The district changed the opening times three years ago. Research showed that students academically benefit with later start times and student drivers have less accidents, he said.
Many other districts start by 7:05 a.m., when it's still dark, Parlapanides said.

Also, he also has to make sure Central students are able to get to the Ocean County Vocational School if the vocational district doesn't delay start times.
"I hope this clarifies any questions," he wrote.
He invites anyone with questions to call him at 732-269-1100, ext. 206.
