Cloudy Skies, Heavy Rain Possible Today, National Weather Service Says

Cooler temperatures, higher surf expected today at the beach today.

The National Weather Service is calling for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, with a moderate risk of lightning.

Highs will be in the mid-70s, with winds from the east at 10 miles per hour.

There's a low risk of rip currents today, but rips can still occur near jetties and other structures. Always check with local beach patrols. Always swim within sight of lifeguards and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a floatation device with you in the water.

Waves will be around four feet high, with easterly swells of around four feet. The surf temperatures are slowly warming up to 67 degrees.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet rolled in at 6:34 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 12:40 p.m., followed by another high tide at 6:54 a.m.
