Coastal Ocean County Beach Report for July 15, 2017

Mostly cloudy at Ocean County beaches today with isolated showers

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies today with isolated showers possible.

Winds will be from the northwest at 5 miles per hour, switching over to the south in the afternoon.

There's a low risk of rip currents today, but rips can still occur near jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim along or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you in the water.

Waves will be around 3 feet, with southerly swells of 2 to 3 feet. The surf temperature is a balmy 73 degrees. The ultraviolet index is a 9, despite the cloud cover, so don't forget the sunscreen. There is no lightning threat today.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet rolled in at 6:51 a.m. High tide will arrive at 12:54 pm., followed by another low tide at 7:15 p.m.
