Crews Worked Through The Night To Repair Water Main Breaks

Situation appears to have been resolved, mayor says.

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - The three water main breaks that left some Bayville residents with low water pressure and some without water have been repaired, Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. said.

"All repair work was completed on overnight," the mayor said. "Special thanks to all the workers from Ocean Pipe Works who worked tirelessly to get these water mains repaired."

The breaks occurred in the Sylvan Lakes Boulevard area, Belmont and Red Bank Avenue behind Shop-Rite and Elm Street off Anchorage , he said.

The breaks affected multiple Bayville streets, including Mill Creek Road, Dockage, Sylvan Lake Boulevard, Pheasant Avenue and sections of Route 9, including the Wawa store, according to Aqua New Jersey's outage map from Friday.

Residents were advised to run cold water until the water ran clear again after the mains were repaired.
