Eleanor L. Applegate, Former Beachwood Borough Clerk, Dies At 85

Eleanor L. Applegate, 85, of Beachwood, NJ passed away on March 5, 2017.

She was born in Elizabeth, and lived most of her life in Beachwood. She was employed with Beachwood Borough as the Borough Clerk from 1970 - 1977, then worked for the Beachwood Sewerage Authority for over 35 years before retiring. She was also a life member of the Beachwood Fireman's Ladies Auxillary.

Mrs. Applegate is predeceased by her parents Theodore Emil Eskildsen and Emma Louise Decker, her husband Hugh Applegate in 2014, her first husband George W. Symington in 2016 and her daughter Lori Jean Symington in 1973.

Surviving is her son George C. Symington and his wife Debra; granddaughters, Candice Symington and Dana Mauro; step-granddaughter Tracey Mulligan, step-grandsons, Ryan and Tyler Gouse, step-children, Keith, Georgia, Brian, Wendy, Christopher and Ruth Ann. Also surviving are many great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

A Life Celebration will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd. Bayville, NJ 08721.
