2 Bayville Homes Destroyed After Shed Fire Spreads: Police
A shed fire spread and engulfed two homes in Bayville on Friday around 3:45 p.m. Officials ruled both homes as uninhabitable.
BAYVILLE, NJ — Two Bayville homes became uninhabitable on Friday after a shed fire spread and engulfed them, Berkeley police said.
Police responded to 100 Moorage Ave for a reported shed fire around 3:45 p.m. Officers found that the shed was fully engulfed in flames and spreading toward the neighboring house at 102 Moorage Ave.
Residents and pets of both homes were evacuated safely, according to police.

The Bayville Fire Company, Pinewald Pioneer Fire Company, Manitou Park Fire Company and Forked River Fire Company all responded and began fire suppression efforts.
The shed fire spread and fully engulfed the neighboring home. The fire then tore back to the house at 100 Moorage Ave before the fire in both homes was extinguished, police said.

Another home at 104 Moorage Ave also suffered minor damage to the exterior, police said.
After a preliminary investigation, authorities determined that the fire began inside the shed due to an electrical issue.
Berkeley's building inspector ruled both homes as uninhabitable. New Jersey Natural Gas along with JCP&L responded and turned off utilities in the houses, police said.
The fire is still under investigation.
Berkeley Township EMS and the Bayville First Aid Squad assisted at the scene. The Berkeley Township Fire Official and the Ocean County Fire Marshall also responded.
