How Much Snow Did NJ Get? See Town-By-Town Totals

NEW JERSEY — The Garden State was blanketed in snow on Friday morning after a second snowstorm blew through the region this week.

Snow fell overnight around 1 a.m. and continued through early Friday morning, totaling 6 inches in some areas of the state (see early snowfall totals by county below).

Though snowfall ended across most of the area around 8 a.m., the National Weather Service said motorists should continue to use caution on the roads as temperatures remain below freezing.

On Thursday night, Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency, advising motorists to stay off the roads and to work remotely on Friday if possible.

State Police responded to 107 crashes and 185 calls for motorist aid from 6 p.m. Thursday to 7:20 a.m. Friday, a department spokesperson told Patch.

The latest snowstorm continued a chaotic week of winter weather throughout New Jersey. Authorities reported hundreds of accidents Wednesday morning amid icy road conditions. Winter storm watches and winter weather advisories are in effect until 10 a.m. for 16 counties and until noon for Bergen, Essex, Hudson Union and Passaic counties.

As of Friday morning, the highest snow accumulations were reported in Burlington, Gloucester and Camden counties, with several towns recording 6 inches of snow.
