Future Of Berkeley ..... Continued. Beachwood Mall Development Plan
Last one out of Bayville, NJ Please turn off the lights.
Hello Berkeley Township Residents
Some of us that live in Bayville, but not all, have a concern with the development plan with the old Beachwood Plaza located across from the existing Roy Rogers and Atlantic Car Wash and other businesses.
I posted my concerns with a previous article about this plan and how the land will be developed. Understand that the plan is still in development stages with suggestions for land usage and development, but it seems to me the cards are already flipped, the card faces show and we the people have a loosing hand. The Project managers won, even before the cards were dealt.

What I know about this project development has me more concerned.
M&M Realty Partners is the re-developer for the land and works with our Council in Berkeley Township. It seems and is spoken there is a very large interest in the property. No kidding! Its Prime. A big box retailer is interested in 14,400 square feet of property, that's about 1/3 of an acre. Not bad, I don't know what big box retailer is interested in the land, but seems acceptable.

The Car Wash thing? Yeah, I'm not feeling that, it so dumb, it so stupid, its so disappointing that it was even considered. We all know there is Atlantic Car Wash across the street. Our Township Council was acting as the Re-Development Authority during a previous meeting and decided a Car Wash was acceptable for an addition to the lands development.
What does this mean? There would not be a review and SKIP a Zoning Board Meeting. What? What? .....What? We have a Car Wash already! Across the street as mention before! Wow, who's building the Car Wash and why the need for 2? Very interesting question, but I don't have an answer.
We all know there are 2 Liquor Stores across the street from one another. We should know and understand we have enough of everything on Route 9, including Fuel stations and Self Storage units.
I don't agree with the decisions and plan development from what I have learned so far.
Speak up or hold your peace.
We can do better. Thanks, d
