Help Clean Up Berkeley Beaches This Weekend
Clean Ocean Action's Fall Beach Sweeps will be held Oct. 18 at beaches across the state.
BERKELEY, NJ — Help keep Berkeley's beaches clean from litter this weekend with Clean Ocean Action's annual Fall Beach Sweeps.
It's set for Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in locations across the state.
Clean Ocean Action launched the Beach Sweeps program in 1985 as a way to rid beaches of unsightly and harmful debris. Since the group's inception, volunteers have removed more than 8 million pieces of trash. Read more: Uncooked Ham, Bedpan Among Bizarre Trash Found On NJ Beaches

Volunteers are needed to help pick up trash. You can register through Clean Ocean Action here. Registration is required.
Volunteers are asked to bring gloves and a trash bucket. Dress for the weather and wear hard-soled shoes.
