Holly Street Fire Under Investigation In Berkeley

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Just how a fire broke out in a Holly Street house last week remains a mystery.
The Bayville home was vacant and had no utility service, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.
When police arrived at 11:21 a.m on Jan. 14, heavy smoke and flames were visible, particularly from the second floor of the home, the chief said.

The blaze was quickly extinguished by the Bayville Fire Department, the Pinewald Pioneer Fire Department, Manitou Park Fire Department and the Forked River Fire Department.
The fire is under investigation by Detective Joseph Santoro, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office, the Ocean County Sheriff's Department and Berkeley Township Fire Offical Jack Weigartner.
