Increased Fire Threat Today In Ocean And Monmouth Counties
Extremely low humidity and high winds are contributing to the risk.

The National Weather Service is warning of an increased fire danger today, primarily due to high winds and very low humidity.
The threat extends from eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland, according to the NWS.l
Expect westerly winds between 15 to 20 miles today, with gusts up to 25 to 30 miles per hour. The relative humidity - which started at or below 30 percent - may fall into the lower 20s or even teens later this morning and into the afternoon.

These conditions combined with dry fine fuels, such as dead leaves and grasses, will increase the risk for rapid fire spreading. Outdoor burning is highly discouraged today.
