Island Beach And Other State Parks To Reopen On Tuesday

State Department of Environmental Protection post alerts as each park is reopened, spokesman says.

With the state budget agreement now in place, the State Park Service is now preparing for the reopening of state parks on the Fourth of July, a state Department of Environmental Protection spokesman said.

DEP Commissioner Bob Martin announced Monday night that all state parks, forests, historic sites and recreation areas will re-open on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, including Liberty State Park and Island Beach State Park in the morning, spokesman Bob Considine said.

Visitors are encouraged to check with the New Jersey State Parks, Forests and Historic Sites Facebook page (www.facebook.com/NewJerseyStateParks), where alerts will be posted as each location reopens on Tuesday, he said.
